Bali-Kuta
We arrived in
Kuta was pulsating. The bars and clubs were jammed and we were offered drugs every few minutes on our wander around; we were hoping mum wasn’t regretting our choice of destinations! Thankfully the hotel was in a quite alleyway away from the buzz.
The next morning mum and I hit the shops and walked along the beach but had to call a halt to our roving before midday as it was sweltering hot and zapping our energy! Besides we wanted to keep some life in us as Demelza was arriving in a few hours. Yes we really are nice people to holiday with- Demelza is visiting us again!
Demelza was impressed with our up grade in accommodation since
Ubud
After hedonistic Kuta it was time to move on to the cultural heart of Bali- Ubud.
We found some beautiful accommodation at the Sagittarius Inn favouring a Balinese/Hindu flavour in contrast to our previous modern surroundings. Ubud is a lovely town, with a chilled hippy vibe, lots of great restaurants, a monkey forest where we got up close and personal with the monkeys,
great spas, scenic walks and a range of Gamelan musical shows. We tried to do as much as we could (between spa treatments) but you’d need weeks to even attempt all the courses on offer, our four days fell far short- thus we will definitely be back some day.

Lucky you having fancy family accommodations! Our Bali hotel was by far worse than your sisters fancy India hotel! How can you complain about that great room you guys had in India?! We agree we have to go back to Indonesia again! Maybe our paths can cross on the return to Indonesia trip :)
